One SAFE Place receives $702 for food bank from Shasta County Interfaith Forum

“The Shasta County Interfaith Forum, an association of nearly twenty faith communities in Shasta County, collected over $1,400 at the Thanksgiving Interfaith Service on November 20 which was attended by nearly 500 people. The Shasta County Interfaith Forum donated $702 to each of the food banks at One Safe Place and the Shasta-Trinity-Tehama HIV Food Bank.

Angela Jones, Interim Executive Director, One Safe Place, responded, “We are so honored by the support and generosity of the Shasta County Interfaith Forum.  So many are in need, especially at this time of year.  This gift will make an immediate impact on our families who have been traumatized by domestic and sexual abuse.”  The Shasta-Trinity-Tehama HIV Food Bank shared, “With the loss of funding this year from grants we could not survive without these donations.  Shasta County Interfaith Forum has been supporting the Foodbank for more than 20 years and is one of the reasons we have been able to maintain food services for the HIV/AIDS community.”
