One Safe Place has an opening available for a Children’s Advocate. This position is located in our Residence department and reports to the Shelter Manager. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm. To see the full job description click here.

Position Summary: Under the close supervision and direction of the Shelter Manager, Children’s Advocate provides direct service to children and parents residing at the emergency shelter, including developing and implementing our children’s program. The Children’s Advocate will provide support to our children to meet their distance learning requirements. This position works as part of an overall team that provides comprehensive shelter services, which includes emergency housing, case management, and our children’s program during nontraditional hours, specifically Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Responsible for the overall supervision of children during group and distance learning, with the aim of providing a healthy, safe, and enjoyable environment. This position provides educational support to our children of school age residing in our emergency shelter, assisting with scheduled class time facilitated by local school districts, homework help, other enrichment activities, including building daily/weekly schedules to ensure that all our children are meeting their educational requirements while distance learning on-site at One SAFE Place.
