Suggested phrases to get you started on HOW will YOU #ChangeTheCulture

“It’s not just a women’s issue.”  From the desk of Angela Jones, Executive Director

Bystander Effect Theory is a psychological phenomenon in which individuals are less likely to offer help to a victim when other people are present. The greater the number of bystanders, the less likely it is that any one of them will help.

The lack of action is the result of social influence, audience inhibition, diffusion of responsibility, and fear of retaliation. As part of our #ChangeTheCulture campaign, we are striving to combat this phenomenon by educating and empowering youth to stand up for one another and engage in the conversation. Bystander Intervention is One SAFE Place’s chosen primary prevention strategy against sexual assault and teen dating violence in high schools.

One SAFE Place offers FREE trainings on Bystander Intervention and would love to visit your school or workplace!  Join the conversation and change the culture by booking your training TODAY!
