ANDERSON, Calif. – The annual all-you-can-eat Crab Feed raises money for domestic violence survivors at Shasta County Fairgrounds.

Cocktails and auction viewing began at 4:00 p.m., and tickets were $50 per person or $580 for a table of eight.

Money collected from the event goes towards assisting victims of domestic violence through One Safe Place.

“Domestic and family violence and sexual assault is a community issue. It’s not my issue or your issue, it’s a community issue. So if we all work together with awareness and education, we can break the generational cycle of domestic violence that is prevalent in Shasta County,” said Event Manager Kristi Hanson.

Hanson said the money will go towards legal services, advocacy, safety and shelter for survivors.

Anderson Rotary Club also made their famous home-made chowder.

This year the crabs are from Humboldt, which had a late start this year due to chemical concerns.
