Twelve nonprofits in Shasta and Siskiyou counties recently received grants that were administered by the Shasta Regional Community Foundation in Redding.
The California Heritage Youth Build Academy received a $16,000 grant from The Women’s Fund of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation.
The money will be used for a training program for women and girls ages 16 to 24 years old to receive basic life skills.
Also getting grants from The Women’s Fund were Girls Inc. ($11,000), the Shasta Community Health Center ($10,000) and One SAFE Place ($8,000).
The Animal Welfare Endowment Fund gave grants to Horses Assist Lives Organization ($2,357), Saving Animals from Euthanasia ($7,480), Shasta Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation ($5,470) and Siskiyou Humane Society ($5,326).
The Community Arts Endowment Fund awarded $4,750 to Anderson Community Services, Parks and Recreation; $4,800 to Jim Phillips; $5,000 to Mt. Shasta Sisson Museum; and $2,500 to Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
