Brookelyn Stafft became a certified volunteer last September. Since completing advocacy training, Brookleyn has contributed an astounding 392 volunteer hours on the Crisis Hotline!

Brookelyn is a pleasure to have on the team, bringing passion and a positive attitude every time she volunteers on the Crisis Hotline or in the Sierra Center. “Honestly I am amazed at the courage of some of the callers. What many of these people are going through is truly traumatic and overwhelming. I love being able to confirm their bravery and encourage them in the middle of their fear and uncertainty,” she said.

Brookelyn recently earned her AA in Social Science from Shasta College. Because of her hard work, she was able to receive three scholarships to pursue a Master’s degree in Psychology at Chico State. She has the ultimate goal of obtaining a PD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in trauma psychology.

Balancing school, volunteer work, and family, Brookelyn enjoys spending free time with her husband and 5 year old son. They care for their many animals (3 cats, 2 dogs, and a flock of chickens), garden, and go camping.  She also relieves stress with yoga, bootcamp workouts, reading, and cooking.

Volunteers like Brookelyn help One SAFE Place provide 24 hour Crisis Hotline support. Thank you Brookelyn for your dedication to the community and for helping to make valuable emergency resources accessible to victims of domestic and sexual abuse throughout Shasta County.

Our next Advocate Training course begins on August 2nd.
